Recently, Guangzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission announced the “2023 Guangzhou Railway Transportation Independent Innovation Product Evaluation List”, and one of the independent innovation products of China Railway Shanhe Engineering Equipment Company Limited, “Large Diameter Intelligent Soil Pressure-TBM Dual Mode Shield Machine”, was selected.

The large-diameter intelligent earth-pressure-TBM dual-mode shield machine developed by China Railway Shanhe has an excavation diameter of 9.13 meters, an overall length of about 113 meters, and a weight of about 1,500 tons, and is equipped with earth-pressure balancing function and open TBM (Rock Tunnel Boring Machine) boring function, which is able to meet the multifunctional requirements of both soft ground and extreme upper-soft- and lower-hard strata boring, as well as long-distance ultra-hard-rock strata boring. The whole tunnel boring equipment adopts split start, adapting to the possible existence of soft rock and hard rock composite stratum engineering geological conditions, and switching the boring mode and slag discharge mode when the geological change of the stratum, with little interference to the supporting construction, solving the technical problems of low boring efficiency of single mode shield machine in the extreme hard rock stratum, and the inability of TBM to tunnel in the composite stratum, and providing strong equipment support for the fast, high efficient and reliable construction of the tunnels.
