In the face of such a difficult problem, the project team of China Railway Shanhe formulated scientific and reasonable shield tunnelling parameters, paid close attention to slag samples and slag volume, adjusted technical means in time according to the advancement of real-time situation, optimized the tunnelling parameters, scientifically applied the shield construction means, followed the principle of double-control of grouting volume and grouting pressure, and took a series of measures by adding synchronous thickening grouting, medium shield mud injection, soil silo plus polymer improvement, and strict control of secondary grouting. In particular, the efficient application of soil silo plus low concentration polymer sludge improvement, medium shield mud injection and synchronized injection of double liquid slurry technology effectively prevented the settlement of Xiao's gun tower.
