The shield section of Wanjiali Power Tunnel is the first construction project undertaken by China Railway Shanhe, and it adopts three sets of shield machines to carry out boring construction. The shield section has a total length of 5 kilometers and is divided into 7 segments, and this time the first segment of 13# shield machine was passed through.
Due to the size limitation of the starting shaft, the shield structure of this project needs to take separate starting, and all the carts need to be dismantled and loaded three times in order to go down the shaft, which makes the construction organization very difficult. During the tunnel boring process, the tunnel continuously crosses the bridge pile foundation of Xingsha Liaison Line at a close distance, the nearest place is less than 3 meters away from the pile foundation, and also crosses the gas and other municipal pipelines for many times, which makes the construction difficult and the risk of safety is high. The complex geological conditions encountered during construction and the abundance of underground water further increased the construction difficulty.
